Pruning
Spot the pruners in large. It's mostly done now, and if the weather stays like this we could see the sap rising soon.
A quiet domestic day: taking a cue from a post on Bluesky, lunch was oeuf en cocotte on a base of the Jerusalem artichoke soup I made yesterday, garnished with fried bacon bits and sourdough toast. It was delicious. I was still a bit hungry so I had a look at the Fast 800 dessert book I bought a couple of months ago and hadn't used yet. There was a very overripe banana in the fruit bowl with some apples, so I made apple, almond and banana muffins. They were quick to do, and I was surprised how good they were. No sugar, they are sweetened with dates (or rather sultanas as I don't have any dates), and with the chunks of apple are more than sweet enough. And very filling -- the rest are going in the freezer.
Now ignoring world politics by listening to Satie and reading my book.
