A useless door

This "door" can be seen in a wall on the grounds of Westminster Abbey just a few yards from Jewel Tower. I'd say it qualifies as a "Thomasson' i.e. a relic or structure that has been preserved in a building but has lost its  original function. Can't believe I hadn't noticed it before tonight!
