Mount Kackar
We set off at 5am, expecting a long day ahead of us.
Mount Kackar is at around 4000m and is one of the highest mountains in Turkey.
The walk up was very exciting, with lots of scrambling and a bit of climbing.
It took around 6 hours to reach the top, where there was a Turkish flag and a book to sign.
We ambled down, with a long stop for lunch on a small balcony, with a view to the glacier before finishing the walk after 11 hours, a lot quicker than we were expecting.
Luckily we were here before the high season so we basically had the mountain to ourselves apart from a couple of people whom we passed once. Most people don't come until August incase of snow, but this wasn't too much of an issue.
