Lunch by the sea
Sunshine from the start today - wow! After MrsM returned from the shop I drove down to the local fishing tackle shop as they’d offered free snow shovels for some reason. All the long-shafted ones had gone - mostly to stables for shovelling horse manure apparently - but I was given a shorter one which could be useful for scraping snow off the drive!
We decided to make the most of the sunshine and drove down the coast to the Isle of Seil, where we had lunch in the Oyster Bar in the village of Ellenabeich. It’s only around 45 minutes in the car. The pub sits on the edge of a former slate quarry, now flooded by the sea - the view from the outside deck is my extra today, looking over to the islands of Lunga and Scarba.
It wasn’t busy - two other couples in the back room, together with five dogs! After lunch we had a wander round the harbour - today’s Blip is the view across to the Isle of Mull from above the slipway where the ferry to Easdale Island leaves.
We stopped off for a quick look around the garden at An Cala - there had obviously been some damage, presumably from Storm Éowyn. Then home to sit outside with a cuppa, though by then the sky was hazing over and it wasn’t that warm! A good day all round though.
