Open Wide!

This lioness was not at all amused by the flies that were tormenting her!  Even if the flies weren't, I was certainly impressed with her display of teeth!

In the late afternoon, we flew back to Nairobi and are now safely ensconced back in the luxury of the Hemingways Hotel.  We were informed this evening that there is a large cyclone bearing down on Mauritius -- the port we are supposed to fly to tomorrow to reunite with the ship.  Because of this storm, both the airport and the port in Port Louis have been closed, and the ship is now deciding where to change course for.  Therefore -- poor us! -- we are staying put here at Hemingways until further instructions are received from our captain.  The adventure continues!

Extras:  Masai Warriors demonstrating their astonishing jumping skills, Sunrise over the Mara, a wary Topi, an extraordinary lizard that I at first thought was a child's toy because of its colouring ... I must admit I think from his pompous pose that he might be related to a certain current US President ... and a last day celebratory toast during breakfast in the bush.
