Busy bees

It was a glorious day today, quite still, and cloudless.
The honeybees were out and about, and one colony is looking particularly good. The upper bee in the photo is a quite newly hatched one , with a bright orange stripe. This gradually fades as the bees get older and more warn. The ones that have lasted right through the winter are almost black.
Ant the other bee you can see carrying pollen on its legs, and this means that breeding has started again for the year and the larvae need food!
Very promising!!
