Lathyrus Odoratus

A day in the hills

The day dawned bright and sunny. The three tonnes of compost were calling, but so were the hills. The hills won. Our son arrived last night for a few days. So we headed off to Church Stretton.  Helmeth, Caer Caradoc and Hope Bowdler, not the longest of walks (less than 10 miles) but plenty of up and down. My blip shows the approach to Caer Caradoc, topped with a late Bronze Age hillfort and believed by some to be the location of Caratacus's last stand against the Roman legions. It was seriously windy at the top and we didn't linger to look for the cave where legend says Caratucus hid after the battle. Gives us an excuse to return another day.
