Compromise
The lake remains frozen despite temperatures well above freezing. Although, as the sun set when I took this at 5:37pm, it was noticeably colder.
In the other direction a lovely band of pink cloud hung over the shoreline. I tried, in vain, to get it reflecting in one of the pools of melt water which had settled on the ice surface.
I took several frames, intending to focus stack this shot, being so close to the foreground, and also lowered one exposure for the sky.
In the end, I used just two frames in an exposure blend. It got too complicated, reflecting a weakness in my technique. With the huge dof of a wide angle lens it's not too bad.
