Letting go

It's already been quite a long week, so I was glad to get out for a bit on Wednesday night.

After another day of back to back meetings and stuff, preceded by a trip down to the Asda car park for a routine mammogram in the mobile breast screening unit parked up there (hence a street art blip from the Marine Parade Graffiti wall....), I headed out for some drinks with some of my colleagues. It was a slightly giddy and febrile atmosphere, not exactly helped by what is going on around us at the moment. The uncertainty is killing.... I was sensible and went with one colleague for a quick early tea before going to the pub. Other sensible participants came, drank modestly and then went off again to live their lives. Less sensible participants arrived early, got stuck in, and then decided they were hungry around 8.30pm and fetched huge burgers and chips from the place next door to eat in the pub (which the pub doesn't mind as it doesn't have a food side). I left them finishing off around 9.15pm and headed home, being lucky enough to have a choice of a 36 or a 10 from outside the Usher Hall. I guessed the 36 would be faster at that time of night and indeed it was.

Anyway, it was a fun and much needed night out.
