Hanging On For Dear Life

Back blips start here.

I apologize to anyone who viewed my original blip. Also for the blur. Taken with my iPad mini during a storm. But you can't much tell.

I had a meeting in Tucson tonight. I left home at 5:15 pm for the 6:30 pm meeting. It was still light then and the sun was to my left, so I took the back roads.

The meeting adjourned shortly after eight o'clock. When I came out there was some drizzle so I made the decision to take the interstate home. I had only done that twice before.

So being slightly unsure of the route, I set my in-dash GPS for "home." Glad I did. It put me on I-10 in a way I had never taken, but I trusted it. It was a good decision overall.

As soon as I melded into traffic, the lightening lit up the sky and the sky opened up! I actually slid open the cover of the moon roof so the lightening would help provide me with more light.

The entire length of the rest of the 35 mile trip was a white-knuckled ride. Here you might be able to make out my speed was about. 49 mph in a 75 mph zone. The temp cooled down from 85 f in a flash.

I didn't even see my exit approaching but the voice of my GPS is what got me home. Thank God I used it!

Can you tell I was traumatized? I won't be able to go to bed until ...morning?
