From the inside looking out
Travelled down to Bedfordshire today to spend a few days catching up with family and friends.
Unfortunately the train connection at Darlington was a little tight. 6 minutes would/should have been sufficient time to walk from one platform to the other as they are all on the same level and next to each other.
However the train from Saltburn was three minutes late and the LNER Azuma waits for no one.
So I had an hour to kill and was late arriving at Biggleswade. Not a problem particularly, and my friend L who picked me up was fine about it. We had a cuppa in town before she dropped me at son Greg’s.
I made use of the time at Darlington station by walking around getting some pictures for Wide Wednesday ‘interesting building’ and hopefully this shot fits the challenge.
It’s undergoing a multi million pound upgrade there at the moment as they are building a new bridge for access to two new platforms, lifts and staircases inside, cycle lanes bike shelters and car parking outside.
There are some super features inside which I hope you can see at the top of my picture. I love this type of architecture. It’s grade II listed I believe.
Evidence - for those that might be interested - of the new bridge is shown in extras.
