At St Cathrines
First let me assure everyone that there were no casualties at yesterday's blaze. The fire fighters were damping down until 7.45 this morning.
Well today apart from a years weather in a day, sunshine, rain, hail and thunder. I volunteered to visit some air crew who died this day in 1942 when the Wellington which was temporarily flying from RAF Pocklington lost it port engine to a fire and crashed while jettisoning its bomb load. The crew were aged between 20yrs and 30yrs. Their lives for our future.
Above the gate dressing at St Catherines as I went to lay flowers at their graves.
