River and Common

I needed to go to Ludlow today and decided to take Hollie with me. 

We walked alongside the River Teme, down to Ludford. Passing the massive weir at Ludford we climbed up the steep and slippery steps to traverse across Whitcliffe Common and back down to the car at Dinham Bridge.

There is a pretty little waterfall and the views over the rooftops of Ludlow and beyond are always beguiling.

It was quite muddy today after overnight rain but it did not detract from a splendid outing and a jolly good dog walk.
