Daffodil capital Of the world

Did you know that the UK is the world’s largest grower of daffodils, growing in excess of 90% of the world’s daffodils.

Daffodils were first brought in the UK from Iberia by the Romans, so yet another thing to be grateful for from the Romans.

The world’s largest grower being Varfell Farms in Devon, growing and cutting half a billion daffodils between December and April each year!

Anyway, to finish off my daffodil blip, here’s, Wordsworth’s famous poem:

I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

I blipped these daffodils on my way to the Cancer Research shop this morning.

Have a good midweek.
