Dejeuner sur L'herbe

A big day. We started off with a trip to Wainui and the waterfall, always a magnificent walk through the bush ending up at the falls. We then went on to Tata beach for a swim and picnic lunch, sheer heaven, the colours zinging.
Then it was our last time with Esme and we had a barbie in Joe's garden, lounging on a blow up bed, eating halloumi, spicy sausages (veggie) and courgettes and getting ravaged by tiny black mosquitos. I tried to take a final lovely portrait of Joe and Esme but she stuck out her tongue at the last moment. Nice of Joe though. 
We later repaired inside and attempted to finish the ongoing cat jigsaw, took on bath duty and then were in charge of the bedtime stories. We tried to agree that we weren't sad as we had had such a marvellous time but I think we lied. 

Oh, and there was an enormous house truck parked near the swimming hole - Joe was impressed and given (too many) ideas!
