Waving, Not Drowning
The bow wave from the catamaran that we crossed the Tagus in this evening, from Montijo to Cais de Sodré. It has just reached one of the clam pickers we were watching, repeatedly bending to pick up clams, not very well protected in the cold water. Some of these folk have drowned recently; glad to see these guys had body boards trailing behind them.
In the background, the 25 de Abril bridge, and the Cristo Rei statue, plus an aeroplane coming in to land.
Gratefuls:
- making contact with the Blipper we are here to meet up with tomorrow; she's on a flight from São Miguel at the moment
- getting here in time to cross over the river to Lisbon, something we've not done before from here (6,40 euros return)
- Mike's safe driving
