Monte Palace Tropical Gardens

Had a good nights sleep. Woke a few times but then nodded back off.

Got up around 7 and slowly got ready. I decided I wanted to go up the massive cable car to the Monte area. I booked the ticket on line for a skip the queue but there wasn’t really any queue. The cruise ships had gone so not busy. Before that I had breakfast of coffee and croissant at a bakery round the corner from the apartment.

There was six of us on our cable car. A young g couple from Toronto, and old couple from Birmingham and a woman in her 30s from the Azores , and me. We all had a great chat on the way up. The views were unreal!

Jumped off and headed to the Tropical Gardens which were stunning . So many areas to see and admire the beauty of all the plants. And these flamingos.

Spent about two hours walking around and the. Headed to a nearby restaurant for a very good lunch. With a view down the valley to the sea.

Got the cable car back down and then walked to the apartment for a sit down and a cuppa. Booked a half day tour on a jeep with five other people for tomorrow afternoon. Then I got a message from Carlos asking if I wanted to go with him on his scooter for a levada walk but it wouldn’t have worked out with the timings.

I lay on the sunbed for a wee while reading and then had a couple hours walking around. Back to the apartment around 8 and now watching a film!
