Rant!

Went for a check up at the dentist this morning and I have a new dentist, a young lady, since my dentist has recently retired. 
She said there was build-up on some of my teeth and I was aware of that since they have not been cleaned at the dentist for a while so I expected she'd clean them - this usually happens but no, she said I should have a deep clean where they clean underneath the top of the gums. I said it sounds painful especially as I have sensitive teeth! However, she was clearly wanting to persuade me to have it and no other option was on offer ie the normal clean. She then told me it costs £73!
I didn't want it anyway - I have no desire to have any painful procedures like this seemed to be. She admitted it would be painful and said they could probably give me "some numbing". 
I swear that dentists train in torture now!
I was not agreeing to it so she said that she has now put me on 3 monthly call back instead of 6 monthly. I may be cynical but it seems to me she is out to make more money than is needed.
I got a ping in my inbox with a request to review the dentist and I said what I think about this pushy sales talk but Terry reckons I should be careful what I say in a review as dentists are hard to get now! 
I know that but I gave an honest review of my experience and I won't feel bad about that.
