Michel suggested that since I can't go anywhere in the Fiat, I might as well drop it at the garage now, and he'll work on it when he can. S isn't here to give me a lift back, but since I wanted to go for a walk anyway, it made sense to drive there and walk back. It was a bit windy, but not cold, and no rain was forecast.

I left the car at the garage and set off at a brisk pace. What a shame that once I got out of Fabrezan and was on a track through the vines, the wind started blowing stabbing little spears of cold rain into my face; I could see the shower sweeping towards me. No chance of hitching here. I battled on, sustained by Strangers on a Bench; I wasn't exactly inadequately dressed, but it had never occurred to me that I might need waterproof trousers.

Still, it was a passing shower, and once my legs were soaked the sun peeped through the clouds. The light was lovely, so I got my camera out of my rucksack, and the battery immediately went flat. Then I discovered I'd forgotten to charge the spare. Luckily I'd banked this blossom photo of the tree outside our kitchen window earlier. Another in extras, plus a phone photo of the landscape. Edit: ha, see last year's blip! The blossom is a little more advanced this year; it's been about a week, and the leaves are coming out too.

Stats: 4.6 km, 43m climbing,  1 hour 10 minutes. I had to change out of my wet, clammy clothes and light the fire when I got home. It's good to be cosy!
