South Queensferry

We took a quick run through to South Queensferry today, in part sunshine and part heavy rain, to have lunch with J, whom we hadn't seen for a while.  We had a good lunch in Hawes Inn, famous for its association with Robert Louis Stevenson, and we had a lively discussion about this and that.

J had returned from a trip to see his daughter and family in Malaysia, and he had quite a few tales to tell, although he did not enjoy the 13 hour flight time.  His son in law is a Master at Marlborough College, a subsidiary of the Wiltshire one and so he was staying with them in the school which he found very interesting.  And it seems that hot weather isn't all its cracked up to be, although to be honest it would be nice to have the chance to try it!.
