Feeding time

The parent coots were working hard tonight, diving up and down to feed their four hungry chicks. This family seem to be a lot more peaceable than all the other coots at the far end of the pond, especially the aggressive male that tried to drown the newly hatched cygnets and take over the swans' nest! Also saw a scruffy juvenile heron feeding in the smaller pond tonight.
