Went to the sewing group this morning. Got a bit bored with covering the lozenges so decided to start to lay them out. I’m going to appliqué them onto some plain fabric which I will use to upholster a chair for the guest bedroom. I want the colour arrangement to look random but there are some colours I don’t want next to each other. Tricky! I left a bit early as the tree surgeons were coming at 12 but when I got home they had already been there for over an hour. The cleaners were there too so both cats had retreated to the top shelf in my wardrobe .
All went soon went quiet and they appeared very quickly. The tree surgeons did a very good job and cleared up very well.
Got a text from the cleaners later - they thought they had left my key. They hadn’t .
Did some batch cooking and sorted out the freezers and fridge. Was just about to start a textile collage for sewing group when Dad phoned. His tumble dryer broke at the weekend - we worked out that it was 35 years old. He was trying to decide whether to just replace it (it lives in the garage so he has to go outside to use it) or replace his washing machine either way s washer/dryer. As his washing machine is 18 years old and makes a very strange noise when he used it he decided on the latter. I therefore spent some time online drawing up a shortlist for him and my brother will take him to look at them later in the week.
Couldn’t get to sleep. Finally went downstairs at 1.30 am and watched an episode of Crime. It worked!
