DAY 5…LANZAROTE

Had to set the alarm today…quick breakfast…then on a half day tour.

When I came here on a girls trip about 8 years ago I knew I wanted to visit The Caesar Manrique Foundation with The Rev one day.

#we were collected from our hotel at 9am and started our at Famara Beach in the North of the island. It was beautiful but very windy..perfect surfing conditions. There were large groups getting ready to catch a wave. Unfortunately we hadn’t got time to join them!!
#Then onto the Sunday Market. It was massive but very sandy…belts, bags, sunglasses, cosmetics and repeat!! I did buy a friend a birthday gift and myself an interesting bookmark but then we were glad to wander around the old town.
# Then onto the foundation. A fascinating house built above a lava river where the massive lava bubbles had made rooms with burst ceilings. The artist had used the formation to make the most amazing home. He fought to make people aware that as humans we had to value our environment.

We live on this planet for such a short space of time that each one of our steps should lead towards building the dreamed space of Utopia…

We were back by 1:30 to chill around the pool.

Our evening ended with bingo and a magic show. we haven’t participated in the live entertainment evenings but the show was actually very good.
