Another flower

I haven’t felt well enough to go out today so it’s a tulip, following on from my recent daffodil!

After days of waiting I finally got my blood test results. The magic numbers have improved slightly but they have changed the diagnosis from ‘acute kidney injury’ to ‘chronic kidney disease end stage 5’. If it had stayed as ‘injury’ then there was hope that the injury would recover. But a ‘chronic’ thing means it can only deteriorate.

The advice to slow down deterioration is to stop eating junk food, red meat, drinking alcohol etc. The advice is to eat plant based food. But I have been vegetarian since 1977 and vegan as well for the last four years. So there’s very little in my diet that I can improve!

I had been told that after these tests the hospital would review the figures and contact me to arrange a treatment plan. This has not happened so far but my doc has said I need a new blood test every week. I’m really fed up with all this waiting with no treatment. The only ‘treatment’ I’ve had was a saline drop three weeks ago, and been told to immediately stop taking three different medications which ‘may harm’ my kidneys.

All this waiting is getting me down niw. And feeling too unwell to go out on a sunny day is not helping.
