On the road again…
No flights, just a car ride away - tonight I’m in Oban in preparation for Diocesan Synod and the day that gives our far-flung diocese the chance to meet, to blether, to share. Before I left home , however, there was the opportunity to compensate for too much sitting last week and sitting to come - Pilates, tougher than ever after three weeks of non- attendance.
Lunch was speedy and sparse - banana on toast - and then it was off to meet Di who was driving us north. We’re staying in the Oban Premier Inn, but the collage shows how we spent the time since we arrived. One photo shows Di with our friend Sarah, who shared some of her Christmas cake with us as well as a great deal of chat and catching up. We had dinner in Ee-usk, the splendid seafood restaurant on the North pier, with my old friend Chis, dragooning a serving child into taking the photo when we’d finished eating.
We’ve already met three people here for Synod from different parts of the diocese as well as Sarah and the Bishop… and there may well be more lurking in this hotel. We may well find out at breakfast…
