Setting Sail
Rained more, and for longer, than originally forecast so we abandoned our planned walk and went to Bury St Edmunds instead. Had lunch in the cafe at the back of the cathedral then had a wander around town before doing the real shopping at B & Q. The Blip shows the Jonathan Clarke's sculpture "Godspeed V" which celebrates the achievements of Bartholomew Gosnold, captain of the Godspeed which set sail for the New World in 1606 (having previously explored the area in 1602 from the ship Concord). A more detailed description can be found here. Unfortunately the sculpture's location at the entrance to the modern extension to the cathedral makes it difficult to photograph easily!
