River Chelmer
Turbulent weather. Very windy last night and there must have been heavy rain too, judging by all the muddy puddles that Rufus and I encountered on our two hour walk today, as we squelched through grass and mud paths in the beautiful warm sunshine that lasted until mid afternoon. We got home at 3pm, literally less than five minutes before the newly darkened skies let loose heavy curtains of rain for more than half an hour. Our timing was excellent and I am content. So is Rufus, even though he is very muddy!!
Late afternoon I started proofreading the latest chapters of my friend's book manuscript until bro called for a cuppa. By 5.15, my niece had joined us and after Gareth had left, Maddy and I started talking about her degree dissertation topic. Unfortunately I couldn't read her abstract due to the sudden onset of a visual migraine, but we chatted about the topic, structure and what research she might engage in, and I made a simple dinner for us both as we talked.
It's now 20.30, Maddy has just left and I'm glad to say that the migraine has not developed beyond kaleidoscope vision. I'll take Rufus out for his 9.30 stroll and then I'll have a really early night to try and sleep it off, so I'll say g'night all. Thanks for visiting, I'll catch up tomorrow.
