Putting the 115ers back in their box; play-offs
A reasonable time for today’s U13s semi-final match against OSU Black. It wasn’t a bad game, but the opposition was simply too good for Ottawacker Jr.’s team and deservedly won 5-1. Not sure there was much Ottawacker Jr. could have done about any of the goals, including one that went through his legs. That is the curse of being a keeper. You set yourself right to save a shot and it goes in the one place that is most difficult to stop. It is a bit disappointing for him, to be honest – and I really hate play offs. Ottawacker Jr.’s team played well all season, finished top of the league, and then loses in the play offs. Seems a crappy way to decide it, to be honest. They have the third-fourth place play off next week at… 8am. That’ll b something to look forward to.
After the game, we decided to go to Hometown with Tom, Elissa and Lucas to watch the Liverpool vs. the Manchester 115ers game; they were, apparently, unable to show it – so we went back to their house and watched there. I was a little bit leery about it, to be honest. I’m one of these awful superstitious types who sort of believes that my tuning in on my laptop every day at the exact same time is the main reason for Liverpool winning. Even though I know this is ridiculous and I am even rolling my eyes to myself as I write it, I still hesitated… And was wrong – as Liverpool won 2-0, and were by far the better team. Slot completely “out-tacticed” Guardiola, and the result was much more comfortable than it seemed.
Then home, a quick Skype with friends, and roast pork for dinner.
