Like the sun

I broke my bedside lamp recently. It was a simple clip-on thing we got many years ago. There are two matching ones, each clipped to the metal bed head. They can be easily angled for reading and don't take up space on the bedside table. I tried to remove mine, and I must have used too much pressure as the clip snapped.

A few days ago, the replacement I bought from Amazon arrived. It's much larger and didn't come with a bulb. We didn't have a compatible bulb, so I had to order one of those, too. It arrived this week, and I got around to assembling it and clipping it to the bed today. When I switched it on, it was like having the sun right next to my head. It's so much brighter than the lamp it's replacing. It will take some getting used to.
