Tessellis
It was another Thursday in the office. There were not many meetings, and it seemed a bit quieter than usual. I don't like sitting at a desk, just working when I am with colleagues. It looks like a wasted opportunity.
We did discuss the new release of the ‘retry’ functionality that my team has had on hold for a few months. There have been good reasons not to deploy this, but I would like it in the system as another feature that the teams can use.
Nobody was in the mood for any post-work social, so I decided to look at the small winter light festival at the nearby Shepherd's Bush Westfield. Lots of places are doing light installations which, I guess, are designed to attract people to the shops in the evening. This one is Here We Glow. There appear to be some inflatables at one end of the Southern Terrace, but they were not on show this evening.
However, Angelo Bonello's Tessellis is a vertical installation of a changing sequence of lights creating geometric shapes. The eighteen panels have never before been exhibited in the UK. It's nice to see a first. I liked them, but it was hard to stand back and watch the patterns while the Westfield customers were scurrying past or trying to get into one of the restaurants. I shall be back to look at it in the coming weeks.
