Bedford
Apparently Esme slept for 13 hours last night! We were in bed by 10 and I reckon we got a good 9!
We spent the morning at Joe's place, more work in his bosky tropical acre. I've cleared an area for compost bins and Himself has hacked back a massive rice paper plant full of irritating spores. The plums are now over but the nashi pears and apples are ripening and can be nibbles as you work, along with tomatoes in his edible wigwam! Joe was working on the tiny house and also received a trailer which will form the basis for his separate compost loo, shower and cloakroom! Hidden amongst the foliage is his next project- an ancient Bedford van which he hopes to convert and rent out! Holy moly, I'd have thought he might have had enough once he does the tiny!
We picked Esme up from school today and I was quite shocked by the lack of security compared to English or Irish schools. All very chilled, no one questioned who we were, the kids sort of wandered out and although we could see Esme's bag, we couldn't see her. Himself went to inquire as to the whereabouts of our precious girl and was airily told that she would be around somewhere - check the sandpit! We did.and she was! Back to ours for dinosaur games, guess the animal and baked potatoes.
We've just finished the day with a late swim at Ligar Bay, lovely
thinking of Karen today, alias Nannak, who slipped away on her own terms. She will be much missed but a privilege to have been her blip pal for so long and to share her last few months .
