The End.
We have left the building after the final event of Winter Words 25. It's been a rich weekend with much to mull over.
Today started with Peter Macqueen talking about the joys of hutting. Really engaging and we all enjoyed a hut toddy. It was also lovely to hear some Gaelic in the theatre and I even exchanged a few (halting) words later.
This was followed by an interesting talk by Jo Sharp, Geographer Royal, lunch and then Ghillie Başcan talking about life, food and whisky with samples of the later two (there's a theme emerging here) and then Val McDermid (always a pleasure to listen to) , a break before the final session of Alan Cumming in conversation with Douglas Stuart which was different to what I expected - quieter and more thoughtful.
It was lovely catching up with various friends over the weekend as well as chatting to the two women who had seats beside us for most events.
