A tea towel made yesterday!

Yesterday I went to a workshop at the Museum of Richmond and learnt how to do a form of block printing. The stimulus was a tea towel from the 1980’s which is part of the collection at the Museum. We were first given lots of info about the tea trade and the first use of tea towels plus the various block printing techniques. We then had the option of using some of the manufactured stamps or making our own. I persevered and made my own of the leaf design…very fiddly cutting it out. Most people gave up and used the bought in stamps as I did for the red design. I am pleased with the result.

Today I went to my daughters for a nice roast lunch cooked by her husband!
