ROTTING PUMPKINS
The VIP's carefully tended pumpkins plants are producing lots of fruit, but they are gradually succumbing to blossom end rot. I am removing the flowers as they wilt and keeping the fruits off the ground, but still they rot. Research suggests it may be lack of calcium. We only need one pumpkin for Halloween, so I am also removing excess fruits so that the plant can concentrate on a smaller number. It is the first time I have ever grown pumpkins, so I am open to advice!
Busy old day again. Up at 6 am writing course material (I know, I know it just takes me ages to write anything), playing with the VIP before he went to his drama class and tidying up and harvesting in the garden. Took an excited call from No 1 Canadian grandson and NO 1 Canadian grandaughter. We calculate that although it is two more sleeps for us, it is only one more sleep for them. Pretty excited myself....
Magic at work, yesterday's blip was actually my 730th, but I was imprisoned with Hansel and Gretel and couldn't post it until now.
