Water Works £150 - The Old Pumphouse, The Ropewalk
This is a little discovery i made when researching my options for the Nottingham take on the Water Works, and it's a stones throw from work, up on the Ropewalk.
bizarrely i've never noticed the building, and it's been stood since 1850! It's also hidden from view from Derby Road, somewhere behind a pub called The Hawksley, which was the name of the architect Thomas Hawksley who designed the pumphouse.
See the attached link for more info - however, it doesn't say on this link that the Water works ceased working crica 1880, when it was discovered the water was being contaminated by the nearby cemetery!
The Old Nottingham Water Works
A damp and drizzly start to the week. The heatwave suddenly seems weeks ago....so does my holiday!
Meetings at work most of the day, and finished after 5pm. Stopped on my way home to take this snap.
Home, tea (another salad..i'll soon look like a lettuce!), and a nice long walk out with Pete to Colliers Wood.
Monday done....
