Loweswater

Jess was off to a meditation / ice bath workshop back out in west cumbria.
A nice opportunity for me to drop her off for the morning and faff about with photography in some of our old areas.. The weather forecast said fog with broken cloud :-)
I recalled a spot at the western end of Loweswater which needed wellies (or possibly waders) to get to but I thought if I could get down by the waterside a composition up the lake could be on. In the event, you guessed it no fog, I did stride down through the marsh along Dubs Beck to get to the lakeside but alas I couldn't find a composition I liked.
So a rethink,  I could see some nice light and contrast on the hills at the far end of the lake, after a review of maps to determine where I could get a view down on the lake looking to the hills in the east and I was back in the car and up to Fangs Brow. A hike across a few fields and I found a location, it was then just a case of taking shots as the clouds rolled over, the light was changing every few seconds. I used a soft grad filter to control the sky and jammed my ISO down so nothing would blow out while I tried various shutter speeds and moved focus around.
