Curious

This little South Island Robin was very curious about us. It inspected our walking poles, and flew around us for a wee while.

Today we walked to Lake Sylvian - an easy walk once we negotiated the river. The bridge was destroyed by floods in 2023. I was wondering if the reason we heard more bird song today was due to fewer people making the river crossing.

I was thinking of Blipper Nanna K a lot as I was walking along, as I knew she was going to die today. Such a wonderfully vibrant person who shared her life on Blip for many years, and in recent months, she shared her experience of dying. She will be missed.
