Chinchayote

Chinchayote is a Mexican Spanish word that refers to the edible tuber of the chayote plant. The word comes from the Nahuatl word tzinchayotli, which combines tzintli (bottom part) and chayotli (chayote). This is about the photo in the center of the collage, I like to eat it as an appetizer or snack prepared cooked, peeled, adding salt, lemon and black chili powder.
Top ones are from Santa Clara del Cobre’s church, a couple of Marcelo going on an errand with hubby and the last one is in Patzcuaro, at the Basilica where we attended mass.
