Where Two Or Three Are Gathered In My Name.....

The women of our church were invited to gather at FBC this afternoon for fellowship and inspiration over tea, coffee and a variety of snacks that included small sandwiches, scones, muffins and fruit.  The church provided  the snacks and the inspiration was provided by our pastor's wife, Bethany, who led us in an interactive exploration of the subjects of discipleship and mentoring.  We were sitting around round tables to facilitate discussion.  Bethany would speak to us a few minutes about a portion of the subject like the W's of Discipleship and Mentoring (the Why, the Who, the What, the When, the Where) and then she would ask us to discuss with those at our table any thoughts, experiences  or questions  we had about what she had said.  We also covered the questions about how to get started with our children and grandchildren and those outside our home in a similar fashion.  Our final segment of time was spent on the fears, lies and excuses that come into our minds that make us reluctant to share our faith.  The whole two hours flew by, but Bethany also thoughtfully provided us with notes on each segment and a list of resources that we could also use, so I felt that it was time well spent, not to mention thought-provoking and inspiring!  Thank you to all who had a part in putting the Gather event together.  I look forward  to the next one.........
