Life Imitating Art

We walked up one of the hills on campus this morning. The view across Monterey Bay is sensational. I was thinking about David Hockney’s iPad landscapes, how the curves of the land echo each other, how paths and roads and the tops of trees all sing together, and I was thinking of these drawings and taking photos and thinking maybe I will try to draw this. And then I looked at the sky, straight into a VanGogh painting. It was a lovely morning. I had not been up that hill for months, didnt think I could do it, but Mr S said I could, and he was right.
