Spends
With it being half-term, I had booked the day off today to spend with the children.
Aside from some time-out with my parents yesterday, they’d had a pretty quiet few days, so I wanted to get out and do something. They had recently been given their own debit cards by their mother and with some Christmas and pocket money burning a hole in their pocket, we headed down to The Trafford Centre to see what treasures we could find.
We made it in good time and before it got too busy, so we squeezed in a cheeky game of bowling before properly hitting the shops. I was delighted to find that they considered most things too expensive and kept their cards in their pockets, only picking up a couple of small things each.
Unfortunately, I needed a new dinner suit for a forthcoming event, so my wallet took a bit of a bashing, but I did emerge with a nice velvet jacket and fancy trousers which I’d found on a sale rack. The wee ones said I looked good, which was good enough for me!
I managed to drag things out until just before 1pm when The Eldest joined us for lunch - I hadn’t told the wee ones, so it was rather a lovely surprise for them when she “bumped into” us at the food court.
We had a lovely Thai buffet lunch and caught up on the goings-on before we visited a couple more shops and then went our separate ways home.
Fantastic day and perfect start to the weekend.
