All change

The kiln has been playing up a bit. Not reaching top temperature on glaze firings and gradually getting worse. After much research it was decided the elements needed changing - again!

Last time, I got a kiln engineer to change them for me at a cost of £154 on top of the £215 element cost. The kiln engineer showed me what to do so thought this time I'd give it a go!!!

I watched a video on YouTube Tube and got Mr W to watch it as back up and got to it!

It was actually pretty straight forward apart from the back breaking bending into the furnace to tap in the element pins and the snipping of the wires - I got Mr W to do that bit!

And now it's doing a test fire with the hope it keeps increasing in temperature to 1050⁰ when hopefully I can give myself a pat on the back!!
