Malden Manor

Once up on a time, you could exit Malden Manor station from the southbound platform, coming down a path directly onto Manor Drive North.

Years ago, it was closed off, obliging travellers to exit via the station. Perhaps it was to facilitate the checking of tickets in the days before we tapped in and out, or maybe there was some health and safety reason. 

You can no longer access the path from the platform or the road: I took my photo through the wire fencing. 

So, here it is, just another little fragment of urban wilderness. I wonder what keeps the grass down?
