My old car just keeps on going. I say this as I gently knock on my head thinking, “knock on wood.” She’s a 2005 Toyota Prius and I am really happy I bought her 20 years ago this coming July. I had just retired and decided to get a new Prius. This involved being on a waiting list until one became available. I think I got mine a bit early because it was around July 4th and others on the list were out of town. It was everything I wanted: mid price, red, and the model I wanted. It had a multi CD player I hadn’t wanted and I’ve never used it. In fact the instructions are still in the unit. It’s a great little car and I expect it will last until I can no longer drive.
Which brings me to a pet peeve I currently have about new cars. When did they get so ugly? So plastic looking and such blah colors? It seems you can get black, dark grey, light grey, white and maybe dark blue or red. Or some yucky neutral green or tan. The road seethes with boring colored dull cars. Where are the clear bright colors? And why are the grills so huge?
But not to worry. I wasn’t going to buy one anyhow and there are much more important things to think about right now.
