The Mighty Pellinore vs "The Dragon"
Or...me.
Pelly has taken to standing precariously on the staircase like so.
He watches over any foolish human who dare come to bed without getting a playful "bop" on the head.
Despite his fearlessness, he quietly crumbles during the night, and cannot be happier to see us when we wake up as, from the way he hurls himself at us with purrs and headbutting, he portrays himself as having had the idea that we had left him FOREVER and were NEVER to return.
A quick history lesson from Wikipedia on our inspired name for Pellinore:
"Pellinore is most famous for his endless hunt of the Questing Beast, which he is tracking when King Arthur first meets him. Pellinore beats King Arthur after three jousts and breaks the sword Arthur had withdrawn from the stone (in some versions this is Excalibur, though he gets another sword of that name from the Lady of the Lake soon after.) Merlin throws a spell of enchantment on Pellinore to save Arthur’s life. Arthur praises Pellinore’s skill, and they soon become friends, with Arthur inviting him to join the Knights of the Round Table."
Our Merlin certainly does throw the odd spell on him for sure. Usually involves a tumble and a jump, and Arthur is pretty much distressed instantly if he knows not where his brother Pelly has wandered off to.
Hope you've all had a wonderful Monday! I look forward to your blips again this evening :)
