An Ageing Beauty

The same rose as yesterday, but 24 hours later. I love how the edges of the petals are taking on a crisp burnished look. The texture of the petals has softened  as they inevitably surrender to the passing of time. One senses a feeling of acceptance of the cycle of life.

The brightness on the central petals is caused by a ray of sunshine through the window.
