Chitradurga Fort

Today we took the long drive to Hampi, leaving our hotel in Bangalore at 7:30am, stopping at Chitradurga (which means Pictueresque) to see the ancient Hindu fort -man’s have lunch. The fort was finally taken by Tipu Sultan in the 1500’s - but stood for hundreds of years before. It stretches for miles, occupying a hill, with the palace near the top. This was about a quarter of the way up. Great place, even in 34 degree heat.
