Nature awakens
An unusually mild spell since daylight hours shortened has contributed to a healthy abundance of most of god’s creatures and plants. Long tailed tits and wrens are especially prolific here as are nuthatches and greater spotted woodpeckers. The grass has hardly stopped growing, it has been above the 7 degrees Celsius for most of the past few months and this with just enough daylight has allowed it to grow well in places. Primroses and snowdrops decorate most of the hedgerows and edges of the streams with bluebells popping out from their leafy duvets showing promise of a blue carpet soon.
After a couple of hours and a hearty breakfast Dippy was content with a good snooze in his cosy basket on his favourite blanket.
