The End Of The Pier Show

We’ve enjoyed a view of Paignton Pier from our hotel room for the past two days but, as we were leaving for home this morning, the rain brought the final curtain down on the show.

For some reason, the photo provoked a long forgotten memory of childhood holidays at various resorts on the Kent and Sussex coasts or my Aunt’s house just up the coast from Paignton at Exmouth when we would go to “end of the pier shows” featuring a musical revue company called The Fol de Rols.

Anyway, this is the only photo I’ve taken all day but  iit certainly captures today’s weather and, having woken up with a a sore throat and no energy, I haven’t done much but sit on the sofa and read since we got home.
