You can't beat it.

SWMBO had an appointment at the surgery this morning, so I dropped her off and went and took some stuff to the charity shop and then took a load of old towels and blankets to the cattery in East Calder. They are always very grateful for a donation of such things which get used for bedding.

There was another trip to the surgery in the afternoon, to have the doctor write out a new prescription.
That could have gone better.
It was a new doctor who really didn't have a grip on the technology - especially when he couldn't get it to work. Neither could the other (newish) doctor who eventually came through to help.
Eventually a secretary appeared and took about 5 seconds to work out that the machine was switched over so that it was set up for the district nurse.
An hour and 40 minutes we were in there in order to get a prescription which had been agreed on at the morning consultation.
Then it was round to the pharmacy where it took all of 5 minutes to get the prescription filled.
